MAYOR’S CLUSTER IMBIZO SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN NOROKI VILLAGE (WARD 7)
The Mayor of Moretele Local Municipality, Hon. Cllr Masango George Manyike, successfully hosted a well-attended Mayor’s Cluster Imbizo at Noroki Village, bringing together over 2,500 community members, stakeholders, and government departments.
The Imbizo was attended by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Honourable Councillors, Traditional Leadership, senior municipal officials, and various sector departments, creating a platform for meaningful engagement with the community.
Residents from Ward 26, 11, 08, 23, 09, 25, 07, 10, 05, 20, 21, 17, 24, 01, and Ward 04 participated actively, demonstrating strong commitment towards building an inclusive and responsive municipality.
Mayor’s Cluster Imbizo provided a direct platform for residents to:
- Raise service delivery concerns
- Engage directly with leadership
- Receive immediate feedback from relevant departments.
This engagement reinforces the Municipality’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centred governance.
The engagement comes at a critical time as the Municipality approaches the final quarter of the financial year following the recent Draft Budget Lekgotla. Preparations are underway for the 2026/2027 Final Budget Lekgotla.
Inputs gathered from the community will play a vital role in shaping a responsive and needs-based municipal budget, ensuring that planning aligns with the lived realities of residents.
In line with the Year of Local Government, community members were encouraged to:
- Register to vote
- Actively participate in governance processes
An Increased participation strengthens institutional capacity, improves resource allocation, and enhances service delivery.
As part of the Office of the Mayor’s social support initiatives, “Sejo Se Nnye, Ga se fete Molomo” Programme continues to provide relief to vulnerable households: 300 families is targeted this quarter and today
150 families were supported during this Imbizo,
remaining beneficiaries to be assisted in the next phase.
Beneficiaries were identified by their respective ward councillors to ensure fair and targeted distribution.
Cluster Imbizo was further enriched by:
- Participation of various government departments and stakeholders, including voter registration awareness led by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)
- Spiritually uplifting performances by Gospel artists Paul K and Omega Khunou
- Strong community turnout and active engagement across all sessions.
Hon. Mayor Masango George Manyike emphasized that this Cluster Imbizo’s it’s a platform for listening to communities.
“This is not platforms for long speeches, but a platforms to listen to our people. Your voices are central in shaping the future of our municipality.”
Mayor’s Cluster Imbizo in Noroki Village stands as a testament to Moretele Local Municipality’s commitment to inclusive governance, community empowerment, and responsive service delivery.
The Municipality will continue rolling out similar engagements across remaining wards to ensure that no community is left behind.
