PREPARATIONS are already underway to hold Moretele Local Municipality Mayor’s Outreach Service Delivery Blitz and Bojanala Platinum District Thuntsha Lerole this Friday, 25 April 2025 at Mmukubyane Village in Ward 04.
Officials from Moretele Local Municipality led by CDS Director, Mrs. Granny Temba and Communications Manager, Ntate Abel Mothupi Malebye led a delegation from Bojanala District Mayor’s Office and Office of the Premier to Bakgatla ba Mosetlha Traditional Council in Makapanstad and Mmukubyane villages. Ward 04 Cllr David Sono was in attendance.
The first stop was with Kgosi Nchaupe Makapan III at the Council office’s in Makapanstad where he and his Council members were briefed about the upcoming service delivery program. The second and last stop was at Mmukubyane Community Hall with Mmukubyane Traditional Council members and different sector departments who later met for an update meeting where they presented their programs ahead of Friday’s event.
The meeting in Mmukubyane heard service delivery challenges from the council leaders who also expressed their longtime wish to get services in their village.
Ntate Malebye informed the meeting that Friday’s program is intended to accelerate service delivery challenges that need immediate intervention. While Special Projects Manager, Mr. Pule Moseki outlined the purpose of the meeting.
Bojanala District Municipality Chief of Staff, Mr. Andrew Modise later convened a meeting where different sector departments presented their plans of work to be done on days leading and on the day of the event.
According to Roads and Stormwater Manager, Mr. Lesley Ramutlwa, the Municipality’s yellow fleet is already on site in Mmukubyane Village to fix the internal and regravel roads. These are roads worsened by the recent heavy rains while other departments will be conducting their different operations in villages under Ward 04.
The event is to be attended by at least 2 500 community members from all 26 Wards in Moretele. Both Bojanala and Moretele Mayor’s are expected to attend the Thuntsha Lerole program where community members will be afforded an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification and get immediate feedback.
