Change Champions…Moretele Local Municipality continues its service delivery project handovers on Mandela Day!

THE saying, “if only pictures could speak,” holds true here – these images capture a thousand words filled with joy from the happy residents of Moretele.

Today, more than 450 homes in Wards 15 and 16 now have access to clean drinking water, thanks to the newly installed water reticulation and yard connection pipelines. Two 1.5-megaliter steel tanks have been added to ensure that these residents will never have to complain about water supply again.

In Ward 18, Lefatlheng, children are delighted to finally have a safe place to play with the completion of their new recreational park.

This park features two swimming pools for both kids and adults, playgrounds, a braai area, a lapa, ablutions and a trampoline, among other amenities.

These projects are part of the ongoing efforts by the Moretele Local Municipality Council to enhance service delivery.

The Mayor of Moretele, Hon. Cllr Masango George Manyike, led a team that included the Speaker, Chief Whip, Executive Committee members, Councillors, and various stakeholders to oversee the project handovers, while councillors in different wards participated to honor and celebrate International Mandela Day.

The Office of the Mayor donated food parcels to several centers in Moretele.

The Mayor said, “as a Municipality we continue to listen to the needs of our communities and adapt interventions to respond to their needs.”

Indeed what the Mayor said is evident and not just words, following the 2024/2025 infrastructure service delivery project handovers.

Adding that while progress has been made, the work is far from finished urging everyone to work with urgency, compassion and integrity in delivering services to the people.
