Moretele Mayor honoured and celebrated by Bakgatla ba Mosetlha Traditional Council on his special day!
NOT one, not two, not three but more than a dozen completed high quality projects that Bakgatla ba Mosetlha Traditional Council is counting today since Moretele Local Municipality Mayor, Hon. Cllr Masango Manyike took office in 2021. According to Bakgatla ba Mosetlha Hon. Kgosi Nchaupe Makapan III, this outstanding contribution deserves to be celebrated.
Bakgatla ba Mosetlha Traditional Council together with the Hon. Kgosi, this morning, Monday, 10 November 2025, recognized and celebrated Mayor Manyike who is celebrating his birthday today, Monday, 10 November 2025.
Bakgatla ba Mosetlha hosted a celebration at the Council offices in Makapanstad aimed to recognize and award the Mayor for his contribution to the community on service delivery specifically in villages under Bakgatla ba Mosetlha.
In Makapanstad Village alone, traditional councilor, Mr. Lencoe Makapan counted eleven (11) completed projects under Bakgatla ba Mosetlha in less than two (2) years. He said when the Mayor came into office he came and introduced himself and committed to work with Bakgatla to bring about much the needed services.
“The Mayor kept his promise and as Bakgatla ba Mosetlha, we are very much grateful. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Speaker, the Council of Moretele and Officials who are working tirelessly to ensure that services are delivered to the people. Previous Mayor’s came and left and we cannot point anything that they did for Bakgatla ba Mosetlha. But this Mayor is making a huge difference.”
Moeka-Vuma Police Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Hobyane and Moretele Crime Prevention led by SANCO NEC member, Mr. Nki Manamela and Mr. Ditshwane were also recognized and honoured for their contribution in community building and safety.
Attending the event was Moretele Local Municipality Speaker, Hon. Cllr Freda Mapela, HR Chairperson, Hon. Cllr VK Maluleka, CDS Chairperson, Cllr Sarah Ndlovu, Ward 17 Cllr, Lawrence Mashele, Ward 20 Cllr Phetogo Letlape and traditional councillors from villages under Bakgatla ba Mosetlha and other stakeholders.
The Mayor thanked Kgosi and Bakgatla ba Mosetlha and committed to working with his Council to deliver services to the people.
The Mayor and his entourage left the traditional council offices to celebrate senior citizens month in Mathibestad.
